The ExactEmail Toolbar for Microsoft Internet Explorer
Overview
The ExactEmail (or "EE") Internet Explorer Plug-In is a "toolbar" that appears in the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. It allows you to type in a phone number
and/or an extension, and it will instantly redirect you to the corresponding web page. This saves you from first coming to the
ExactEmail website, and doing the same thing.
(There are exceptions to the behavior of the toolbar described here, depending upon the settings that you select. This is
discussed more below.)
This Toolbar download contains no spyware, no adware, no viruses, nor any other dangerous and annoying
features. We dislike spyware and adware as much you do!
Download the EE Toolbar
To download the EE Toolbar, please do the following:
- Click the following button to download the Toolbar to your computer:
- After it has finished downloading, double-click the "ExactEmailToolbar.exe" executable from the directory that
you downloaded it to.
The install process will automatically begin.
- The ExactEmail Toolbar requires the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1. This is a series of files that allows the Toolbar
to properly run on your computer. If you do not have the Framework 1.1 on your computer, the install program will prompt you to install
it. (Please note that this is a very safe program from Microsoft that has no viruses, no adware, no spyware, nor any other type of dangerous or annoying
software associated with it.)
- After you have finished installing the Toolbar, open Microsoft Internet Explorer. At first, you may not see the Toolbar. Therefore, do the following:
- Select the "View", then "Toolbars" menu option
- Look for the "ExactEmail Toolbar" sub-menu option. Make sure it is checked. If not, select it, and the Toolbar will appear.
- If the Toolbar appears cutoff, then make sure the "Lock the Toolbars" sub-menu option under the "View" and "Toolbars" options is not
checked. This will allow you to move all the toolbars around so that you can view the entire thing.

- The following ExactEmail toolbar should appear after installing:
Using the EE Toolbar
There are two buttons located on the EE Toolbar. When you click the button, it will display the following form:
This form allows you to enter the phone number, extension, and/or password of the email or web address that you wish to redirect to.
After entering this information, press the "Get Email or Web Address" button. Depending upon the settings that you select in the
"Exact Email Settings Form" (see below), the following will happen:
- If two email or web addresses are associated with a phone number, then you will either be redirected to the
ExactEmail.com website to display both addresses, or you will be redirected to the first valid web address of the two.
- If an email address is associated with the phone number, then either your email client (i.e. - Microsoft Outlook) will
open with the email address in the "To:" field, or you will be redirected back to the ExactEmail.com website. If you are
redirected back to the ExactEmail.com webiste, it will display the email address, and you can either click it to open
your email program or copy-and-paste it
into your favorite web-based email program (i.e. - Hotmail or Gmail).
When you click the button, the following form will appear:
This form allows you to specify the behavior of the first form described above. The following is a detailed explanation:
Default Values
The "Default Values" tab allows you to specify default values that will automatically be filled in when you open the form described above.
This is convenient for phone numbers that you will regularly use, but whose extensions you will want to enter
each time you open the form. You can specify 0, 1, 2 or all three default values.
Other Settings
The "Other Settings" tab allows you to specify a number of settings, including:
- "If there are 2 email or web addresses associated with a phone number:" Select the first option if you want
to redirect back to the ExactEmail.com website and display the 2 email or web addresses associated with the phone
number that you entered. This will allow you to choose which one you to want go to. Select the second option if you want
to immediately redirect the browser to the first valid website of the two. For example, if an email address and a website
are assigned to the phone number, then the browser will automatically be redirected to the website. If two
web addresses are associated with a phone number, then it will be redirected to the first web site in the list.
- "If an email address is associated with a phone number:" Select the first option if you want to redirect back to the
ExactEmail.com website and select the email address from the webpage. You can either click it to open your email program or
copy-and-paste it to your favorite web-based email program. Select the second option if you want
to automatically open your email program and fill in the "To:" field without first going to the ExactEmail.com website.
- "When the "Get Email or Web Address" form first opens, put the focus on which control:" Select the control that
you want the cursor to be located in when this form first opens. This helps speed things, if, for example,
a default value is always entered into the "Phone Number" input box, but you want to always enter something into the "Extension"
input box.
